PetLover Central came to fruition in 2002 when I decided to fulfill my dream to provide the best care for
our neighborhood pets and have a place where I could come to work with my own beloved dogs!
Prior to opening PetLover Central, I worked in the corporate world when I visited The Best Friends Animal
Sanctuary in Kanab Utah. (www.BestFriends.org) After spending a week volunteering in "Dog Town", I came
home, (with a St. Bernard, no less!) and knew it was time to make a change in my life. I left my job and
started a pet lovers internet site offering pet health insurance and holistic pet foods. This venture
allowed me to spend many hours at the local shelters where I was involved in pretty much, everything
animal related.
When I decided it was time to open PetLover Central, I interviewed staff tirelessly and hired the most competent
and experienced trainers/behaviorists, to train, interviewed, and certified the staff who take care of the dogs at
PetLover Central. In addition, our on staff dog trainers re-enforce our positive training techniques each and
every day in daycare. This intensive training is necessary to ensure that all dogs who visit us are supervised
by qualified, trained and patient "humans."
In 2005, John joined our team as a dog handler, (in between studying for his Florida bar exam). Lucky for us, John
just couldn't stay away and kept on coming back to spend time with us while he awaited his bar results. Well, he
passed the bar in 2006 and after only 1 day at work, he finally admitted where his heart was…it was at PLC, with THE DOGS!
We were all really happy to hear this and in 2007, John made it "official" and became my partner in PLC! So, even though
this means less time swimming at home with his dog, Brady, he feels the "sacrifice" is well worth it!
Shortly after this, Tori, our faithful manager who started with PLC while we were in “build-out phase” in
2002, was offered partnership as well and we became partners and well…an almost “employee owned company”. You’ll
see Tori at “work” most days with one of her 2 delicious adopted pooches, and always wearing a smile. So, now
that you know a bit about the pack leaders, read on, or better yet, please come on in to see how we do what we do!
Every pack member of PLC gets to know and bond with each and every dog in our care. It's only part of what sets us
apart from the others and it's what I am most proud of.
Behind the scenes, the entire "pack" at PetLover Central volunteers their time for the less-fortunate 4-legged
pals of ours: Grooming, training and even fostering shelter dogs saved from death row or the streets.
The entire staff of PLC is comprised of true animal lovers and we all have pets of our own at home. I am very
proud of our team as they work very hard and most importantly love what they do and it shows!
100% of the staff is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.
The staff at PetLover Central is very pro-active with our 4-legged guests and continually nurtures good manners
and basic obedience while they stay with us. There is no other like us and that's why we encourage you to come
on in and meet with us, tour our facility anytime (no appointment necessary) and see the amenities that we
offer EXCLUSIVELY for your pet!
This is more than just a business for us and we promise to always do our best to make your dog most comfortable.
We've gone "above and beyond" to satisfy our canine clients, from taking dogs to our homes at night for special
training and confidence building and always offer very special care for our senior guests. You will feel GOOD
about leaving your dog with their extended family here at PLC.
We hope to see you soon!

P.S. YOU CAN HELP HOMELESS DOGS TOO! In July of 2005, I founded a non-profit
501(c)3 organization called Rescue...Rehab...HOME! RRH is devoted to the care of injured, neglected
or "discarded" dogs. Our motto is "saving one dog at a time" because we
believe that if we focus our efforts on a handful of dogs in need, rather than a
hundred at once, our goals to finding suitable forever homes will come
to fruition more quickly. Of course, in the last 3 years of rescue, we have learned that
it isn't that simple.
